Happy Weekend!

It’s the weekend and my favorite person is back from Israel! Scott and I are having a Friday daytime date and we’re painting the town red by seeing The Wolf of Wall Street, Anchorman 2, going to PYT for lunch and possibly the River Rink at Penn’s Landing at night. So much to squeeze in before the end  of the holiday season in Philly, its going to be a little bit before the city becomes alive again in the early spring. Good thing, red carpet season is upon us, hence why I am kicking off the weekend with Leo and his brand new Golden Globe nominated Best Musical/Comedy, Best Actor movie.

Happy Weekend!

flapper holiday partyWho doesn’t love a themed holiday party? Tonight I’m kicking up my heels at a friend’s apartment for a Great Gatsby themed party! 2013 was definitely the year of Great Gatsby so why not have one more party?! Above would be my dream 1920’s flapper outfit: black, sequins and a pop of bright pink. What would you pick out?

The rest of the weekend will be crafting, shopping and working out (gotta get ready for my half marathon training!). Whatever you do, I hope you have a great one!

Party Planning 2014

Without further to do, I am flinging myself into project mode because in only 16 days its going to be New Year’ s Day! Yes, I am counting down to New Year’s Day one of the best days to live in Philadelphia, specifically South Philly and even better my neighborhood – 2 Street.

If you are new to Philadelphia and have never graced Broad Street the amazing Mummer’s Parade takes place every year and then the real festivities occur later on in the evening. This annual tradition is a huge family day in South Philly with tons to eat and not a beer to spare. This year, I am throwing a little shin dig with my roommate and I have menus to prepare, alcohol to purchase and some DIY crafts that I hope to be successful at. Below is all of my inspiration, wish me luck! (Also, shout out to Emily from Her Philly for posting the Fine Wine & Good Spirits Quantity Calculator yesterday)

e09c886739011d3fe99ef71bae6c7391Scott is planning on making a delicious Hendricks Gin Punch, except the recipe escapes me, I’ll have to repost it for you all once we get closer to the party! Have you thought about New Year’s Party Plans yet?

Happy Weekend!

This weekend I’m venturing up to Brooklyn with Scott to go to see Queens of the Stone Age at the Barclays Center! I bought these tickets so long ago for Scott’s birthday, I can’t believe the concert is tomorrow night, so I hope he enjoys it haha. We’ll be staying at the Hotel BPM in Sunset Park, Brooklyn so it will be nice to check out a new neighborhood, though our stay will be short this trip. If we do get to venture into Manhattan, I would love to check out the David Zwirner Gallery to see the Yayoi Kusama I Who Have Arrived in Heaven exhibit. See the photo below of the Infinity Room, how amazing!
