Over the weekend, Alma de Cuba, one of the many Stephen Starr restaurants in Philadelphia premiered Pop Star Brunch. I had a girlfriend coming in from out of town (Starr fanatic) and a boyfriend who loves Alma de Cuba so I couldn’t think of a more perfect way to spend a Saturday afternoon in Philadelphia. Music was provided by DJ Deejay (if you have been to Silk City on a Saturday night, you’ll know that this was a fun afternoon). Alma de Cuba’s brunch selection was awesome! There were special twists to the menu including French toast and mini banana pancakes with crispy Serrano ham and candied walnuts to a chorizo and Manchego breakfast quesadilla. YUM.
“A steak from a Cuban restaurant? You know I’m there.” – Scott
I would highly recommend Pop Star Brunch if you have family or friends coming into Philadelphia for the holidays. I made a reservation and it was glorious to not wait 40 minutes to an hour for a table. Make this new weekly brunch a part of your to do list this holiday season. (Also, treat yourself to the Orange Passion Fruit Mimosa too – DELICIOUS)
